Podiatry

Our feet are probably the most hard working parts of our body.  It’s no wonder they need a little help from time to time.

We have 26 bones in each of our feet and their function and alignment is vital for every step we take.  If you are suffering from longstanding or recurrent injury or general foot pain , it may be that your body is trying to compensate for a foot position which is sub-optimal.

At activ8rehab, our Podiatrists take this pretty seriously.  We do a full biomechanical evaluation and video gait analysis to help build a picture of your personal mechanics.  From here we take a 3D  scan of your feet, ensuring a totally bespoke analysis.

From this information, we can identify muscle weakness, imbalance and postural abnormalities.  This often results in a personalised exercise programme, liaison with other medical professionals and bespoke functional orthotic footbeds , if necessary.  Footwear advice is also given, so you will leave your appointment with the tools and knowledge to help you get back on your feet as soon as possible.

We see so many injuries in our podiatry clinic such as Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonopathy, Morton’s Neuroma, Tibialis Posterior Dysfunction and Patella Tendonopathy.  Poor foot mechanics can lead to a myriad of problems further up the skeleton, so it’s not unusual to see back and neck pain as a result of poor foot posture.

At activ8rehab Chertsey, our Podiatrists work closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons pre and post surgery as well as Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and sports massage therapists; both in house and from other clinics.

Whatever your foot and lower limb problem, you’re in good hands at activ8rehab.
