James qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Southampton University and has over 13 years experience managing a varied range of complex musculoskeletal and sporting problems. He is interested in managing all sporting and musculoskeletal injuries, including pre and post-operative rehabilitation. He initially worked for the NHS and military, gaining experience in managing patients with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, rheumatological and paediatric pathologies.
James has worked in private healthcare for over 10 years, during this time he jointly ran a busy sports injury clinic within a Virgin active gym developing his interest in pre and post-operative rehabilitation, worked closely with Consultants as a Specialist lower limb Physiotherapist for a large private hospital, built up lots of experience treating professional ice hockey players, rugby players, elite athletes and national cheerleading athletes and he has experience treating and fitness testing Surrey Police officers. James believes in treating the individual and identifying the root cause, in order to return patients to full sporting and functional ability. James has been Senior Physiotherapist on 3 Mhealth grand cycling tours, providing Physiotherapy support to elite and professional cycling personnel, including members of pro cycling team Novo Nordisk. Due to his experience within the cycling environment, he has a special interest in the assessment, management and prevention of all cycling injuries and uses his experience to return cyclists of all abilities back to the road or trail. He further utilises his knowledge by running our Physiotherapy bike fit service.
As a former athlete and rugby player, James has had many sporting injuries and is empathetic with his patients throughout the rehabilitation process. In his spare time James is a keen mountain biker, plays in a Brazilian samba reggae band and can be found performing Olympic lifts in the gym
